Cíle předmětu
The main objective of this course is to get students acquainted with the general function of the European Union from a translation and interpretation perspective. Through the study of the Union’s institutional setup, they will learn about its decision making system and the role of its Institutions and decentralised agencies on the interpretation and translation workload. Special focus will be given to the European Commission and the European Parliament as the two largest providers of translation and interpretation services in the EU, and in the Commission’s case, in the world.
