Course objectives

The course will present famous french dramatists, directors, theatre groups and trends in 20th century (Copeau, Le Cartel, Artaud, Vilar, Vinaver, Ionesco, Koltes...) and it will try to show their theatre work in context of the French cultural backround (Avignon Festival, theatre of the boulevards, Comédie Française). Seminary part will try to offer more detailed look on chosen parts of the French theatre (critics, polemics, analysis).

Assessment methods (in Czech)

1 hodina přednáška, 1 hodina seminář, kolokvium, 2kr +1 za zkoušku
