Course objectives
Reading Plautus and Lucretius is not a regular course. Students obtain credit for individual reading of the prescribed passages from the works of the authors. Students are expected to read, understand and comment on selected works.

  • Prescribed reading:
  • Lucretius: I 1-148; II 1-66; III 1-93, 830-869; V 156-194, 925-1027.
  • Any comedy of Plautus.
  • Translation, metrical analysis, interpretation and comment on the selected passages.
