Course objectives
Ergonomics is the cross-disciplinary branch and deals with the work system human – technics – environment. The important aspects are location, area, equipment and safety of workplace, delimitation of work seat, lighting, microclimatic conditions, noise, etc. Further there are characteristics of worker and his relations to others (co-worker, manager, subordinate worker). Specially, the problems „open space“ and the formation of optimal work environment are included here.

  • Syllabus:
  • - Delimitation of ergonomics (definition and segmentation, progress, contribution and purpose, cross-disciplinary factor, system conception)
  • - Workplace and its characteristics (proportions, colours, equipment, lighting, noise, microclimatic conditions, typology of workplaces)
  • - Human and work activity (physical, sense, personality aspects, gender, age, nationality, handicap, human relations, organization and kind of work, technics, tools)
  • - Safety and well-being at work (safety, model of exposure, risk factors, prevention, safety culture and safety climate, well-being)
  • - Methods in light of ergonomics (observation, study documents, interview, questionnaire, measuring, experiment, analysis, evaluation, designing)
  • - Formation of optimal work environment (aspects of work environment, basic steps to optimal work environment)

Teaching is realized every week: lectures, discussion, presentation of researchs.
Assessment methods
Teaching is based on interactive lectures and seminars. Finalization: verbal coloquium.

Colloquium is on the basis processing homework „Optimal classroom“.
