- Die Vorlesung befasst sich mit der Geschichte des Literaturnobelpreises aus der Sicht der deutschsprachigen Literatur des 20. Jahrhunderts. Im Vordergrund steht das literarische Werk der Preistraeger seit Theodor Mommsen bis Guenter Grass, erwaehnt werden jedoch auch Autoren, die den Preis bekommen sollten und trotz wiederholter Kandidatur nie bekamen. Mit dem Abstand der Jahrzehnte, durch die die literarischen Qualitaeten der preisgekroenten Autoren ueberprueft werden, wird der Frage nach der Richtigkeit so mancher Jury-Entscheidungen nachgegangen.
