Course objectives
The seminar is the first part of a six-part (six-semester cycle Moravian Magnate of 1600, which deals with the issue of the lifestyle and mentality of the Central European nobility in the Early Modern Period. The presented part will deal with the basic characteristics of the monitored issue, the systém of sources, the existing state of the research and literature. It will further deal specifically with the issue of the birth, childhood, youth and education of the aristocrats of the Early Modern Period. In the seminar, period texts will be read and commented on, besides that the students will appear with short papers, which will either be an introduction to the issue or will complement it in a specific way.
Learning outcomes
After completing the seminar, the student will be able:
1. To master the definition of the history of the nobility as a historiographical field
2. To master the problems of historiography on the history of the nobility
3. To manage the issue of birth and childhood in the Early Modern Period
4. To master the problem of education in the Early Modern Period
5. To manage the issue of religious outlook in the Early Modern Period
