- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the principles and methods of quantitative and qualitative sociological research and its application in the field of art and culture.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course the student will be able to:
- understand and explain the reasons and benefits for using empirical research methods in art and culture studies;
- understand and explain the methodology and principles of empirical research;
- present reasons for using of empirical research for addressing problems in the field of art and culture;
- create a project of empirical research;
- create survey tools;
- interpret the results of empirical research;
- present the results of empirical research. - Syllabus
- 1. Art, culture, sociology, cultural industry and marketing.
- 2. Social science research, its principles, methodology, qualitative and quantitative research.
- 3. Principles, structure and progress of empirical sociological research.
- 4. Application of sociological research in art and culture: areas and problems, strategic planning, PR and marketing, research of organizational culture.
- 5. Implementation of empirical research: preparation, data collection, processing and evaluation.
- 6. Interpretation and presentation of the results of empirical research: scientific and commercial presentation.
