Course objectives
This course gives an overview of current literature research within the field of Dutch studies, by means of ten scientific articles published in leading magazines and proceedings in the period 2010 - 2016. The central research objects, questions and approaches/methods are discussed. In this way, students are acquinted with (new) research fields within Dutch literature research. Eevry week, one article is discussed, which students are obliged to read at home. Besides, every student specializes in one subject, about which he/she gives a presentation. The aim is to clarify the theory/approaches discussed in the article.
Learning outcomes
students will learn about approaches to literary analysis and the latest contemporary literary research in the form of published articles

Teaching methods
A combination of lecture and seminar (two hours per week); within the class a combination of teacher-led activities and student-centered learning activities will be employed. Every week students read an article which is discussed in class. Moreover each student gives one presentation on a specific topic.

- Presence (max. two times absent) and participation
- Weekly assignment (reading and preparing article)
- Presentation (+ preparing literature)
