Course objectives
At the end of the course the students should be able to name culture realia of the 18th century village, related scientific discussions, and should be able to carry out a research on the village culture in Moravia at that particular period of time.

  • Training the basic research skills – paleography, metrology
  • Reading and analysing period texts

  • Demographic characteristics
  • Material culture: constructions, clothes, food
  • Subsistence: agriculture, animal husbandry, home production
  • Mental structures: religiosity, magic, schools, reading, folklore
