The course assumes inquisitive students of the humanities and is primarily intended for students of the Aesthetics and Aesthetics and Cultural Studies programs.

Course objectives
The aim of the course is to introduce selected political/religious/social caesuras in European history and their artistic (alternately cinematic) representations.
Learning outcomes
The history of European art does not unfold continuously, but rather in fractures, caesuras. We think of the deepest fractures, which are expressions of social, religious or political tensions, as revolutions. The aim of the course is to present selected profound ruptures in the course of art history, always accompanied by a selected film illustration. It will help the ideal graduate to gain some overall, yet plastic view of European culture and history in the characteristics of the periods featured.
