- Course objectives
- Principles of technological production of the most important compounds Survey of simple equipments used in chemical technology. Basic calculations in chemical technology.
- Syllabus
- 1. Technology of waste water, technical gases, production of hydrogen and carbon dioxide. 2. Production of a)sulfur containing products (sulfuric acid, carbon disulfide). b) nitrogen containing products (nitric acid, ammonia, hydrogen cyanide) c) production of HCl and hydrochloric acid d) production of phosphoric acid. 3. Production of sodium carbonate, industrial fertilizers, electrothermical productions(calcium carbide, silicon carbide, elememental phosphorus), electrochemical productions (sodium hydroxide). 4. Building materilas and silicates. Ceramics, china, glass, elemental silicon. 5. Metalurgical productions, (iron, steel, aluminium, copper, nickel and lead). Basic information about uranium production and technology of burnt nuclear fuel.
