- Course objectives
- The objective of the seminar course is to integrate the quantitative aspects of bioenergetics with the students' knowledge of physical chemistry. Skills in scientific calculations, processing and interpretation of experimental data will also be increased.
- Syllabus
- Solving assigned items from the obtained sets of bioenergetic problems 1. Energy exchange between a system and its surroundings 2. State functions 3. Energy content of nutrients 4. Energy expense 5. Energetics of chemical reactions: the adeninenucleotide pool 6. Membrane transport: energetics, stoichiometry 7. Examples of analysis of transport systems 8. Proton motive force and its measurement 9. Thermodynamics of redox reactions 10. Kinetics of redox reactions 11. Stoichiometry of oxidative phosphorylation 12. Energetics of photosynthesis

- Assessment methods (in Czech)
- Jednosemestrový seminář v rozsahu 2 hod týdně. Jsou zadávány úlohy k samostatné domácí přípravě. Zvládnutí látky je ověřováno pravidelnými krátkými testy, při kterých je možno používat jakýchkoli vlastních informačních zdrojů.
