- Course objectives
- After completing this course students will recognize and understand: The defining properties of the group, the multiplication table, and the class. Symmetry elements and operations. The point symmetry groups, classification of molecules. Representations of a group, characters. Selection rules in spectroscopy and applications to the chemical bonding.
Tracing the sources of symmetry arguments in chemistry the course objective also is the ability of applying them. - Syllabus
