Course objectives
Účelem kurzu je seznámit studenty s pohřebním ritem jako sociokulturním jevem a jeho projevy v archeologickém a antropologickém kontextu. V širokém spektru předvést rozmanitost tohoto jevu.
Learning outcomes
Po absolvování kurzu bude student schopen: porozumět a vysvětlit rozdíly a zvláštnosti v pohřebním ritu podle sociálního postavení; věku; etnicity; interpretovat pohřbívání mimo pohřebiště a hřbitovy; při válečných situacích; popsat protivampyrická opatření; vysvětlit další specifika v nakládání se zemřelými - lidské oběti, vykrádání hrobů.

Teaching methods
Theoretical preparation in form of lectures, complemented by individual student work (translation of a selected paper related to burial rites, essay on given topic, etc.).
Assessment methods
The course is concluded with an oral exam (on-line MS Teams). To pass the exam successfully the student must prove good knowledge of the issues discussed during lectures and in the required reading.
