Learning outcomes.
After completion of this practical course students should be able to:
determine, classify and characterize basic taxons of both lower and higher plants in accordance to the recent system;
discuss ecological requirements of these taxa and their practical significance;
explain the basic morphological terms, apply them on real objects;
utilize basic microscopic techniques; create suitable scientific illustration.

  • 1. Cyanobacteria, , Rhodophyta, Dinophyta, Cryptophyta. 2. Heterokontophyta, Haptophyta, Euglenophyta. 3. Chlorophyta. 4. Myxomycota, Plasmodiophoromycota, Oomycota, Chytridiomycota, Zygomycota. 5. Ascomycota, Deuteromycota. 6. Basidiomycota, Lichenes. 7. Morphology of vascular plants. 8. Bryophyta, Lycopodiophyta. 9. Equisetophyta, Polypodiophyta, Cycadophyta, Pinophyta, Gnetophyta. 10.-13. Magnoliophyta: importatnt families.

Annual course, 2 hours of laboratory practice (completing the lecture Bi1090) per week.

Test of practical knowledge, credit. Credit conditions: presence at the practices + complete records (protocols) with drawing of the observed material, determination test (last week of semester).
