- Course objectives
- At the end of the course the students are able to: Understand and explain developmental processes; Identify structures formed during embryogenesis; Interpret and explain recent knowledge and problems in regenerative and reproductive medicine; Formulate and discuss hypothesis about ontogenesis and evolution.
- Syllabus
- Embryology, lectures 2 hour weekly, exam. Regenerative abilities in animals. Reproduction: cell reproduction the basic for the growth and development of organisms. Asexual reproduction of Unicellulata and Animalia. Sexual reproduction and differences, gametogenesis, fecondation and fertilisation. Alternating reproductive cycles. Ontogenesis - embryonic, postembryonic direct and indirect development. Growth of organisms, equal and unequal growth, tumours. Special part: The comparative embryology of main animal taxons.
