- Prerequisites
- knowledge of physics at the grammar school level
- Course Enrolment Limitations
- The course is offered to students of any study field.
- Course objectives
- Physics is general and reliable basis of all natural sciences. To understand them it is necessary to have at least general view how physics and physicists look into the nature.
This course is an elementary introduction into the world of physics and physical thinking. This course is a follow-up of a secondary school course of physics and it aims to review and improve students' knowledge of physics and put the base for further physical studies. Students need only basic calculus on the introductory level.
At the end of the course students will be able
- to understand fundamental physical terms and principles
- understand links among various fields of physics
- to solve physical problems using basic mathematics apparatus - Syllabus
- 1. What is physics, relation to natural sciences, physical research, SI units
- 2. Kinematics
- 3. Force and motion, Newton's laws, types od forces
