- Course objectives
- Lectures give a piece of information about nature protection and management of endangered habitats from the view of the landowners, stakeholders and state administration with respect to the landscape history, current state and actual problems in nature protection.
- Learning outcomes
- Main benefits of this course for students will be a basic overview of the main problems in biotope types in the Czech Republic and their possible solutions through focused management actions.
- Syllabus
- History of human impact in medieval landscape and its consequences. Changes of ecosystems, biotopes and species populations. Types of management for nature protected habitats and species. Basic manuals for the management of endangered priority habitats. Case studies. Current problems in nature protection, forestry, fishery, hunting etc. Theory of sustainable development and its application in nature protection.
