Course objectives
The aim of the course is to explain genetic and molecular aspects of the basic principles of Angiosperm, such as reproduction by apomixis, sex determination, incompatibility, male sterility, polyploidy, mutations, disease resistance, resistance to abiotic factors, plant biotechnology and transgenosis. Fundamental genetic and molecular principles and temporary knowledge of basic plant processes in model plants (Arabidopsis thaliana and others) will be presented.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course student will be able to explain genetic and molecular aspects of the basic principles of Angiosperm, such as reproduction by apomixis, sex determination, incompatibility, male sterility, polyploidy, mutations, disease resistance, resistance to abiotic factors, plant biotechnology and transgenosis, molecular markers. Students understand fundamental genetic and molecular principles of basic plant processes and their applications.
Syllabus
