Graduates will acquire appropriate methodological framework within their field of specialization and will be able to apply it in their own research.
- Learning Outcomes
After successfully completing his/her studies the graduate is able to:
- deal scientifically with various linguistic and methodological problematics in Romance linguistics
- methodologically develop a research field
- prove herself/himself successful in research and academic institutions, and wherever it is necessary to use theoretical, methodological and practical knowledge and skills at any public, private, Czech or foreign institution
- Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Post-graduates are prepared to enter research activities and occupations requiring highly specialized ability in theoretical linguistics, especially in universities and research institutes at international level.
- Practical Training
Practical training is not required. However, PhD students are required to hold a research fellowship at a foreign university or any other foreign research center.
- Goals of Theses
The standard extent of doctoral work is about 180,000 characters. During the process of preparation, writing and editing of the thesis the postgraduate student will be consulting with her or his supervisor on a regular basis. In the PhD thesis, the student shows his or her ability for critical thinking in methodological and analytical work and reliable independence in finding solutions. It is expected that the PhD thesis should make a positive and substantial contribution in the field of knowledge in the area.
