Degree programme objectives
The program aims to prepare top experts in the field of radiology, nuclear medicine, medical physics and some areas of biomedical engineering and in the disciplines developed within the Biophysical Institute of Medical fakulty and in cooperation with clinics of the Faculty Hospital Brno (KRNM LF MU, KZM LF MU and KDR LF MU). Graduates should be prepared primarily for further scientific careers in academic institutions, but also for potential employers in research facilities, health care facilities, and as lecturers.Study plans

- ObjectivesThe program aims to prepare top experts in the field of radiology, nuclear medicine, medical physics and some areas of biomedical engineering and in the disciplines developed within the Biophysical Institute of Medical fakulty and in cooperation with clinics of the Faculty Hospital Brno (KRNM LF MU, KZM LF MU and KDR LF MU). - Learning Outcomes
After successfully completing his/her studies the graduate is able to:
- be oriented in the given topic, collect relevant data and prepare them for statistical processing and interpretation
- evaluate the current trends in radiology, nuclear medicine and biophysics / medical physics in which he prepares his dissertation work, as well as in the whole field of imaging / medical physics
- to transfer the experience gained from the field / expertise in the form of pedagogical activities, lectures and publications
- compile and compile the data obtained, to interpret the results achieved, to present their findings and to advocate them on the relevant forum
- lead research work independently
- combine the theoretical knowledge of medical physics in practical applications of imaging methods
- use the theoretical foundations obtained within the subject for radiation protection of patients and staff
- introduce new practices into clinical practice, especially with regard to the use of modern diagnostic methods
- Occupational Profiles of GraduatesGraduates should be prepared primarily for further scientific careers in academic institutions, but also for potential employers in research facilities, health care facilities, and as lecturers.
- Practical TrainingPractical experience is obtained through practical work performed by the research group the student belongs to, and further also inside the shared infrastructure. For students specialised in clinical studies, the practical training takes place in the partner medical facilities (The Faculty Hospital in Brno)
- Goals of ThesesThe standards of dissertation theses at LF MU are regulated by the Dean's Directive No. 5/2021 "Guidelines on the formal requirements of dissertation theses prepared at the MU Faculty of Medicine"
