The aim of the study is to acquire the highest professional qualification for the profession of dietitian and at the same time to acquire specialized competence with the designation of dietitian for the nutrition of children and adult nutrition by acquiring the necessary theoretical knowledge, practical skills, teamwork habits and the ability to make independent decision-making for activities stipulated by valid legislation .The field of study prepares individuals to acquire a special professional qualification of the clinical practice mentor of a dietitian in the field of qualification training, specialized education of medical non-medical staff and in the adaptation process of newly emerging nutritionists.

- Learning Outcomes
After successfully completing his/her studies the graduate is able to:
- participate in the continuous improvement of the quality and safety of nutritional care
- coordinate the team of dietitians in nutritional care for adults and children
- educate adult and pediatric patients or close persons in specialized nutritional procedures and prepare information materials for them
- monitor and evaluate the nutritional status of an adult and child patient and to participate in their solution in the event of complications
- plan and provide specialized and highly specialized nutritional care for adults and pediatric patients with various diseases
- plan and provide specialized and highly specialized nutritional care in adult and pediatric terminal patients
- educate loved ones in providing the necessary nutritional care in their own environment
- lead specialized education in the field of adult nutrition and child nutrition
- provide counseling in nutrition counseling and outpatient clinics
- conduct exploratory surveys to identify areas for improving the quality of nutritional care
- respect the age, individual and other peculiarities of clients / patients in providing nutritional care

- act as a mentor of the professional practice of a dietitian in the field of qualification training, specializing education of non-medical health professionals and in the adaptation process of new employees in nutrition care process
- Occupational Profiles of GraduatesThe university prepares specialized workers with application in health care according to § 14, par. 1a and 3, Act No. 96/2004 Coll., On the conditions for acquiring and recognizing the competence to perform non-medical health professions and performing activities related to the provision of health care (Act on medical professions, as amended).
They will acquire the acquired knowledge and skills in ambulances of medical facilities, nutrition counseling centers, educational centers, departments or clinics of health care facilities, social care institutions, intensive care units, dialysis centers;
catering and medical nutrition and catering services in hospitals, social care institutions, spas or school canteen facilities;
at workplaces of the State Health Institute and state health surveillance authorities in the field of nutrition hygiene; in pharmaceutical companies, food factories, fitness centers; in their own health care facility (especially outpatient care) on the basis of authorization to provide health services in the field of dietitian.

- Practical TrainingAn obligatory part of the study program is a professional practice accompanied by supervision of a total of 400 hours. Practice starts from the first semester and the practice itself is spread over four semesters. The Department of Public Health provides facilities (health facilities, school facilities, educational centers, institutional social care facilities) with which it has been cooperating for a long time and on which it is possible to practice under concluded contracts with the Faculty of Medicine. The aim of the course is to apply theoretical knowledge in practice, to deepen professional skills in the field of nutritional care. Practice takes place in direct contact with the patient / client / family, but it also focuses on group education and individual mentoring within mentor practice. Professional practice is organized in the form of continuous (including exercises) or continuous (block) instruction. Practice is focused on prevention and nutritional care of both healthy and ill.
Practice takes place under the guidance of experienced dietitians in accordance with their work activities. An integral part of the training program is the management of Logbook on the performance of the entire professional practice.
- Goals of ThesesThe diploma thesis is a written part of the final state examination. The recommended range is at least 80 standard pages.
The student demonstrates her ability to solve and elaborate a specific topic under the guidance of her supervisor. The work has the character of a scientific message and must therefore retain a certain structure adapted to the problem addressed. The diploma thesis serves as a document and background to the state final examination and will be evaluated by opponents.
The aim of the thesis is to prove the student's skills:
- solve and process a specific topic;
- apply theoretical knowledge acquired by studying to solve specific problems of dietitian practice;
- use knowledge from different study subjects and evaluate interdependencies;
- Access to Further StudiesA Master's degree program graduate may continue in a doctoral degree program of related programs.
