Scientific and Research Activities

• 2004-2012: electron microscopy at the Institute of Scientific Instruments of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. Involved in observing samples from external sources (contract-based), doing work towards PhD thesis. Currently involved in the Centre of Competence 'Electron Microscopy', a joint project of several institutes and companies.
  2007-2009: Conceptual Design Study for the CESLAB (CEntral European Synchrotron Laboratory). This work partly took place on site of the ALBA synchrotron (total: 5 months) at that time being built in Barcelona, Spain. The work consisted of rebuilding their outdated Concept Study using up-to-date technical reports, with the help of local experts, to suit the needs of a synchrotron planned in the Czech Republic.
• 2002 - 2003: determination of plasma properties (namely electron density and temperature) from the profiles of OES hydrogen lines, allowing the characterisation of most frequently used plasma types. Under Dr.A.Brablec, Plasma Chemical Laboratory, Masaryk University.
• 2002: research on radial distribution of species in helium/nitrogen/oxygen-fed TIA microwave torch, in the group of Prof. M.C. Quintero Ortega at the Cordoba University.
• 2001: research on manufacturing and FTIR/ellipsometric characterisation of Fluorocarbon Thin Films under the leadership of Prof. Juergen Meichsner, University of Greifswald, Germany.
• 2000-2001: research on the thermal behaviour of plasma-immersed materials. Under Dr. L.Zajickova, Plasma Chemical Laboratory, Masaryk University.
