- This course is concerned with selected periods, genres and themes of the history of Czech cinema.

- Teaching methods
- Lectures, film screenings, reading, homework.
- Assessment methods
- The assessment is based on two essays:
the first one (of 800-1000 words) will be inspired by personal reflections of „Marketa Lazarová“ – the film of František Vláčil, or selected movie of Vojtěch Jasný. This text should be handed in or sent by email until 5 November.
The second essay (of 1500-2000 words) should be done as an analysis of one Czech film (or two or three in comparison) or some special questions of Czech cinema history. This text should be handed in or sent by email until 17 December. - Language of instruction
