Cíle předmětu
The aim of the course is to present different aspects of migration: forced as well as legal migration, especially from the legal perspective. The European Union has harmonized its visa policies, some other forms of legal migration, policy on international protection and its return policy. However divergences still remain between individual European countries. The main focus this year will be on diverse forms of international protection, including temporary protection, on the return policies of the EU. The course sheds light on the approach of Central European countries to this highly debated issue. Since the lecturers are both based in the Czech Republic, they will also present the local problems to the students and will try to engage them in the discussion how their own countries face the legal issues connected with migration.
