Department of Business Management – Faculty of Economics and Administration - Prerequisites
- The aim of this course is to teach students to carry out functions for which they are prepared during their studies at the faculty, in terms of specific organizations focusing on issues of the given field of study. The aim is the get them involved in troubleshooting and enable them to discuss with distinguished experts in the field. Completion of the Special working experience should also enable the students to apply their theoretical knowledge in dealing with specific situations under the supervision of the staff of the organization where the practice takes place.

- Course objectives
- The main objective of the course is to provide some practical experience from business organizations and institutions which operate in industries that match fields of study at the faculty
At the end of this course, students should be able to:
- understand theoretical knowledge and relations applied in practice;
- compare theoretical knowledge with practical application;
- deal with selected problems in business practice;
- assess the importance of theoretical knowledge in the context of practical requirements - Syllabus
- The length of the practical training has to be three weeks, minimum. The training can be carried out continuously or in parts during the semester, exam period, or during holidays in accordance with conditions agreed between the faculty, the organization and the student.
- If a student is employed and the job corresponds with the graduate’s profile of their study field, the work done in the company can be accepted as the practical training required.
- Requirements for the practical training: Focus and concrete goals, its factual, temporal and safety condition, name of the students supervisor, who will assess the course of practice in writing.
- Before starting the training students will be briefed on the basic conditions of the training and its termination - results and contribution of practice (final report).

- Assessment methods
- The course finishes with a credit. To be granted the credit, students must submit the following:
- Duly completed "Confirmation of the completion of practical training" containing assessment of the student’s supervisor in the company.
- Final report on the progress and outcome of the practical training as a seminar paper summarizing specific contribution of the training for their own personal development, assessing the knowledge acquired compared to the theory and making a general reflection on the practical training.
- Daily records of the course of training, which are a part of the “Confirmation of the completion of practical training." A prerequisite for a pass is the participation in the final seminar, where the student will present the seminar paper and fill out questionnaires about the practical training (ongoing questionnaire and a questionnaire at the end of training), which are available at www.econ.muni.cz/praxe. A part of the questionnaire at the end of practical training and a part of the final report is a proposal of at least two topics for Bachelor’s or Diploma Theses, which could be worked out in the organization, where the student passed the practical training. - Language of instruction
