- Introduction to Law (ZAPR) This course is predominantly theoretical but it is designed so that it conveys the knowledge of selected legal institutes necessary for efficient orientation in a positive legal form. Students will be acquainted with the nature of law as a social phenomenon and with its functions. They will learn the key concepts of jurisprudence. They will learn how to use concrete sources of law in the Czech Republic and legal norms so that they can use, interpret and apply them to concrete realities and manifest orientation in the system of branches of law. The course contains a survey of the constitutional order in the Czech Republic and of the organisation of state and local administration. The course is supplemented with procedural law, especially administrative procedure essential for communication with administrative authorities. The course aims to provide the basic theoretical knowledge of law and form the basis of legal awareness of a future economist. The course forms the necessary basis for the subject Law for Economists, compulsory in the 2nd semester. Credit requirements: 80% participation in seminars, a seminar paper.
