Course objectives
Introduction to Philosophy (KHZAFI) The aim of the course Introduction to Philosophy is to introduce students to the principles of scientific methodology, to acquaint them with the concept of so-called paradigmatic development of science and with overall potentiality and limits of scientific knowledge based on the varying history of European culture. At the same time, knowledge gained in this way should enable students a deeper understanding of the state of current scientific methodology and prepare them so that they can study special scientific disciplines. In its genealogical part the course will draw especially on the works of E. Auerbach, M. Foucault and R. Guardini, the methodological part of the course will be particularly based on the work of I. Prigogin, K.R. Popper and W. Dilthey. Examination: written test, oral exam.
