Course objectives

Economy and Management of Non-profit Organisations The course especially follows the knowledge acquired in the courses Public Economy, Public Finance, Economy of Public Sector, Management and Law for Economists, and also takes into account students' experience gained in internships at organisations in the non-profit sector. In the first 4-hour consultation attention is paid to the causes of the existence of non-profit-making organisations, the identification of their position in the national economy, as well as to detailed explanation of requirements for seminar essay whose quality is decisive in the assessment of knowledge in this subject. The second seminar is devoted to the typology of non-profit organisations in relation to their purpose and to the basic characteristics of their legislation, economy, management and funding. The other two seminars focus on the description and use of individual instruments of management, including strategic planning, basics of accounting, calculation, budgeting and taxes. The use of the individual management instruments in practice is documented in the presented seminar projects. Examination requirements: seminar project. Examination: written exam with a follow-up discussion over a seminar project.

Syllabus (in Czech)

• Přednášky jsou rozvrhově organizovány do dvou čtyřhodinových bloků. V prvním bloku je studentům představena problémová struktura kurzu, požadavky na absolvování a způsob vzájemné komunikace během semestru. Je předvedena modelová přednáška na jedno, popř. dvě vybraná témata, jsou představeny modelové POTy s vysvětlením správného postupu a podrobně je rozebrán soubor povinné a doporučené literatury, včetně elektronických zdrojů. Kromě toho jsou studenti seznámeni s charakteristikou základních právních typů NNO v ČR. Druhý tutoriál je věnován způsobům financování NNO, akcent je položen na státní dotační politiku vůči NNO. Druhá část tohoto tutoriálu má konzultační charakter a je zaměřena na řešení konkrétních problémů v POTech jednotlivých studentů. Podrobnější studijní harmonogram je obsahem DSO. Harmonogram pro distanční formu studia: 1. týden prezenční část - 4 hodiny Kapitola 1 - samostudium 2. týden Kapitola 1, 2 - samostudium 3. týden Kapitola 2 - samostudium 4. týden Kapitola 3 - samostudium 5. týden Kapitola 4 - samostudium a příprava a realizace autokorekčního testu 6. týden Kapitola 5 - samostudium 7. týden Kapitola 6 - samostudium a příprava a realizace autokorekčního testu příprava na tutoriál 8. týden Kapitola 7 - samostudium tutoriál 9. týden Kapitola 8,9 - samostudium a příprava a realizace autokorekčního testu vyhodnocení tutoriálu 10. týden Kapitola10, 11 příprava a realizace autokorekčního testu 11. týden zpracování a odevzdání POTu 12. týden hodnocení připomínek k POTu příprava na zkoušku 13. týden opakování, příprava na zkoušku
