Course objectives
The course consists of three basic parts. The first part is focused on a systemic definition of e-banking as a non-separable part of e-commerce. The second part concentrates on systemic definition of functions of e-banking and possible uses of e-banking. The third part is focused on a systemic definition of communication and information environment of e-banking and on development trends in e-banking. The principal objective of this course is to clarify theory of systems and modelling in the area of e-banking and e-commerce, to explain modern conceptions of e-economics from e-banking and e-commerce point of view, to explain development trends in this area and define the functions of information and communication technologies in banking. At the end of the course students should be able to:
understand possible uses of e-banking in all areas of business, including e-government;
assess possible uses of e-banking and its economic applications.

Assessment methods
The course is completed by an exam. Systematic attention of students must be focused on interpretation of conceptual issues in lecture parts. Students must purposefully prepare for listed topics of lectures and tutorials by:
- understanding topics of lectures;
- studying given literature;
- looking up new information sources in world virtual libraries with the intention to bring a new modern attitude to given topics;
- an active participation in professional discussions during lectures and tutorials and visiting a lecturer during office hours.
