These cases will be solved by means of tools, which could be used for such a purpose, meaning blanket orders, substitutions, reservation system, ATP/CTP, drop shipment, combined shipment, non stocking unit and non stock items, and so on. Student will acquire skills to excersise these tools. CRM and its use, advanced logistics, basics of production planning. Some new methods will be appended such as Drum-Buffer-Rope and P&Q analysis, metrics used in informatics, Pareto analysis and knowledge of data analysis by means of OLAP technology including brand new case studies taken from the real experience portfolio of the teacher. The main aims of the subject Understanding the reasons for ERP usage as a nonexpendable tool for controlling processes; adoption of main relations and function of ERP system; acquaintance of ERP market and business processes connected to the sales of intangible assets and services connected to it; understanding of the basics of modern managerial methods and defining the problems often nested in a range of business and production processes, acquaintance of the set of skills, which are necessary to understand the customer need and optimal setup of ERP system in course of implementation process; be able to show the impacts of possible bad managerial decisions; understanding of benefits and bottom lines, which customers expect and believe to reach if using correctly implemented ERP system. Every student will probably meet these problems in their every day professional life and acquired knowledge will be very useful to solve them. - Teaching methods
- Lectures and seminars, modelling the typical case studies by using chosen ERP system and related discussions, self study, hands-on ERS systems
- Assessment methods
- For standard full-time study the course will be split into 13 blocs of lectures and every block will be 2 hours. Related seminars will also be split into 13 blocs and every block will be 2 hours. The subject is not provided for combined or other forms of study except for full-time study. The complex characteristic of the subject requires, that the course switches from lectures to hands-on procedures and vice versa, so the attendance is mandatory for lectures and seminars. In every lesson the teacher will require discussion about the subject and will present real case studies from his expertise for a better understanding of usage of managerial methods and tools. Students will be supplied with the latest available demo version of an ERP system and it is expected, that this demo version will be installed on their private computers in order to check acquired skills during self study. The student ability to operate demo version of ERP during seminars will be continuously checked by teacher. The first part of the final exam will consist of a written part, in which the student will prepare a basis for the subsequent oral exam about managerial methods and the second hands on part where the student will present a required example of a daily process in ERP. The question will be supplied in advance and will be stored on the university server. The manuals and power points presentation related to every provided chapter will be stored on that server as well as the written materials, which will help to model required processes in ERP system. The questions used for PMPIS2 testing is considered as a basics for questions used for Bachelor's final state examination. The acquired knowledge of PMPIS2 will be usful for elaboration of Bachelor's thesis.
