- Course objectives
- The contents of the course consist of ten subjects chosen from the issue of human resource management in companies. Students will get an overview of basic areas of human resource management issues in companies. The lectures will be focused on modern trends in the field of HR management. The course also gives examples of the world leading companies that are pioneers in the field of human resources management. Marginal attention will be paid to particularities of human resource management in small businesses. Students will also be shown examples of processing certain types of personal agenda and procedures used in personnel administration.
Students in groups will set up fictitious companies and will have to implement tasks related to the management of human resources in these companies - always under the topic taught in the lectures.
At the end of this course, students should (be able to):
- understand the impact and importance of human resources for a company
- be familiar with main functions and stages of the process of human resource management
- understand specific procedures and techniques of human resources management
- acquire basic knowledge for application in practice
- acquire an overview of current sources dealing with the issue referred to - Syllabus

- Teaching methods
- The class consits of a self-preparation done by student at home and a consultation held at the faculty. For each consultation student is obliged to review given topics (theoretical preparation). In the class the information is delivered in the form of a lecture joined with discussions or solving a case study. Student teams work during the semester on one assignmment (project) concerning the topics of the classes and one individual paper.
- Assessment methods
- Elaboration of a seminar paper, ranging from 4 to 6 pages on a chosen topic concerning human resource management.
Students in a distance learning must also sumit a POT (work corrected by the tutor).
Final test and final classification
Any copying, recording or leaking tests, use of unauthorized tools, aids and communication devices, or other disruptions of objectivity of exams (credit tests) will be considered non-compliance with the conditions for course completion as well as a severe violation of the study rules. Consequently, the teacher will finish the exam (credit test) by awarding grade "F" in the Information System, and the Dean will initiate disciplinary proceedings that may result in study termination. - Language of instruction
