Course objectives
The course covers in the sphere of Business Management subjects a specific position. While most other courses are dealing with sub-areas of a company, respectively different views on this issue, the course sub-serves the integrating function. The basic method leading to the acquisition of necessary knowledge and skills is a project management system for the newly built a fictitious company. Processing of this project represents a demanding multi-disciplinary nature of work. Therefore, the project teams deal with the assumption that individual team members (about 5 persons) specialize in separate parts. At the end of this course, students should be able to:
- understand the company in its entirety
- integrate knowledge from different courses (such as the corporate economy, management, marketing, accounting, etc.) and apply it to a project management system
- use teamwork
Syllabus
  • Thematic plan of tutorials:
  • The main purpose of lectures is the recapitulation and application of profile knowledge on the project solution. Concretely:
  • 1. Introduction to the problem of subject. System of operating management. Approaches to the projection.
  • 2. Company function (productive, sales, economic, logistic, personal, technic, administrative).
  • 3. Clustering of activities into the sections. Types of section structures.
  • Purpose of seminars is the preparation and elaboration of project by the way of presentation, discussion and consultation.
  • 1. Presentation and discussion to the statement of submission and the basic concept of project solution.
  • 2. Presentation and discussion to the preliminary version of project.
  • 3. Closing consultation.

Teaching methods
Teaching takes place in the form of tutorial and study hour. Tutorials comprise of presentations of particular teams. Participation in tutorials is obligatory.
Assessment methods
The course is finishes with the colloquium. The scope of the exam covers discussion and evaluation of the project on the system of management of fictive company. Any copying, recording or leaking tests, use of unauthorized tools, aids and communication devices, or other disruptions of objectivity of exams (credit tests) will be considered non-compliance with the conditions for course completion as well as a severe violation of the study rules. Consequently, the teacher will finish the exam (credit test) by awarding grade "F" in the Information System, and the Dean will initiate disciplinary proceedings that may result in study termination.
