- Course objectives
- The goal of this course is to:
- explain the way how the teaching at higher education institutions is done (e.g. independent learning, peer teaching, Bloom's taxonomy);
- explain different types of thinking (critical, creative, systematical, scientific, interdisciplinary, prosocial);
- define the discipline of information systems;
- systematize the body of knowledge, which students will acquire during the programme study;
- show possible ways how to apply the knowledge they will acquire. - Learning outcomes
- At the end of this course, student will be able to:
- differentiate between different learning styles and strategies;
- define a understand the merit of information systems discipline;
- write a short academic text about information systems v propojení s (along with the course Academic Writing). - Syllabus
- Classes are not every week of this course, instead, they will be only in the first few weeks of the semester. The classess will take a form of seminars, and therefore the attendance is mandatory. During the seminars, following topic will be discussed:
- 1. Information systems as a discipline and curriculum of the study programme.
- 2. Learning styles and strategies.
- 3. Different thinking types and their application.
- 4. Importance of academic sources and how to work with them.

- Assessment of the course will be given upon attendance and written assignment covering the topic of information systems. The written assignment will be the same as for the course BDX_AKAP Academic writing.
