Course objectives
The aim of the course is to equip students with the fundamental principles of finance. Students will obtain the information about the functioning, organization, subjects and current development of the financial markets, as well as about the banking systems and international financial systems. Students will learn about the development of finance, their current problems and trends, macroeconomic and financial indicators and their impact on national and international financial markets. They will understand the importance of current financial information, the importance of the banking system and the principles of financial securitization processes, including the fundamentals of investment decisions.
Learning outcomes
Upon course completion, the students learnt about the fundamental principles of finance, the impact of the current economic environment and the impact of the overall financial system on individuals. Students are able to provide an overview of how to use financial information in everyday life, how to navigate the financial market and how to choose the right investments. Students will be able to explain how the international market affects finances and what impact has the macroeconomic situation on individuals and their finances. At the end of this course, students understand the basic context and complexity of finance. The new form of the course responds to the current trends and needs of students based on innovative teaching methods requiring greater student participation in the learning process and thus increasing the efficiency of the learning process.

Teaching methods
Tutorials (lectures) Write an abstract of selected financial information and assess its relevance and evaluate the impact in practice. The abstract will be peer-reviewed based on specific requirements.
Assessment methods
The course has a form of lectures. The lectures (12 hours) are divided into three parts. Reading, class discussion. Semester papers (POTs). Requirements completing assigned questionnaires. Examination is a written test. A condition of successful completion of examination test is to achieve at least 60%. The maximum achievable score is 100, the minimum for the test is 60 points. For the evaluation of students, the following scale is used: A 92 - 100%, B 84 - 91%, C 76 - 83%, D 68 - 75%, E 60 - 67%, F less than 60%. Any copying, recording or leaking tests, use of unauthorized tools, aids and communication devices, or other disruptions of objectivity of exams (credit tests) will be considered non-compliance with the conditions for course completion as well as a severe violation of the study rules. Consequently, the teacher will finish the exam (credit test) by awarding grade "F" in the Information System, and the Dean will initiate disciplinary proceedings that may result in study termination.
