- Course objectives
- The main objectives of the course:
- to acquire the specialized language of business and economics
- to improve general language skills
- to be able to understand a specialized text
- to master various forms of business communication
Students should achieve the B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
After successful completion of the course, the specialized language will be an open system which the students can adapt to their professional needs. - Learning outcomes

- Selected topics from the units of the textbook "Expertos" and "Empresa Siglo XXI":
- Incorporación en una empresa (anuncios de trabajo, carta de solicitud de empleo, ofertas y descripciones de empleo);
- Reunión de equipo (reuniones de trabajo, las negociaciones, algunos consejos para negociar con espanoles, la negociación colectiva);
- Los traslados laborales internacionales (la movilidad de los ejecutivos);
- El comercio internacional (economía de América Latina y Espana, escribir un informe sobre un sector de la economía, el comercio exterior de Espana, los grandes acuerdos internacionales de comercio e integración en el continente americano);
- Montar un negocio (el plan de empresa y e una ONG),
- El carácter emprendedor, el perfil del emprendedor espanol;
- Cuestiones de finanzas - gasto y administración de dinero, el gasto en los hogares espanolas, comparación de los salarios medios en la Unión Europea;
- Las monedas de la América Latina, las alternativas al dólar;
- Inversiones éticas, el IBEX 35;
- Administración del tiempo personal y laboral, la jornada de trabajo en diferentes países, la conciliación laboral y la igualdad;
- La producción y la fabricación, la cuestión de la productividad en Espana, los países latinoamericanos líderes en producción;
- El proceso de fabricación (objetivos en la gestión de la producción, problemas en la gestión y sus consecuencias, una nueva filosofía empresarial;
- Los tipos de sociedades;
- Crear una empresa;
- Publicidad y marketing;
- El mundo laboral;
- Los componentes del comercio;
- La banca.
- Gramática: pronombres, los tiempos del pasado, estilo indirecto y correlación de los tiempos en indicativo y subjuntivo, imperativos, subjuntivo (presente,préterito perfecto, imperfecto y el pretérito pluscuamperfecto de subjuntivo), expresar opiniones, construcciones pasivas e impersonales, expresar condiciones, usos del subjuntivo para dar consejos, usos del subjuntivo con expresiones temporales de futuro,frases de relativo con subjuntivo, perífrasis verbales, frases temporales, frases condicionales referidas al presente y al futuro y al pasado.

- Self-study preparation for the examination.
- Assessment methods
- Examination: written and oral
- 60% of points in the written examination are required for the admission to the oral part.
- 60% pass mark for the oral part involving discussion over one of the selected topic.
Any copying, recording or leaking tests, use of unauthorized tools, aids and communication devices, or other disruptions of objectivity of exams (credit tests) will be considered non-compliance with the conditions for course completion as well as a severe violation of the study rules. Consequently, the teacher can complete the course by awarding grade "FFF" in the Information System, and the Dean can initiate disciplinary proceedings that may result in study termination. - Language of instruction
