Course objectives
Methods of Operational Analysis (KHMOAN) The course is focused on optimalisation and simulation methods applicable for support of objectivisation of managerial decision-making. These are especially the methods of linear programming, methods of network analysis, methods of inventory control, models of queuing, replacement models, simulation models and models based on the game theory. The content of this course is particularly a continuation of the course Management and develops further its exact aspect. The individual methods are discussed from the user point of view. Emphasis is placed on the formulation of a problem, its transformation into a model and entering inputs to the optimalisation or simulation algorithm. In simpler algorithms students are shown the calculation processes, in more difficult ones only their mathematical nature is outlined. On the side of outputs, attention is given to the interpretation of model results, including pointing out the possible pitfalls of their practical applicability. An integral part of the course is also a presentation of software equipment for the individual methods. Examination: written and oral.
