Course objectives
In this course recent influential research papers related to important macroeconomic issues will be presented and discussed. The discussion will be focused on clear formulation of the research question the author addresses, the approach chosen, the comparisson with other literature and the results. Emphasis will be put on understanding the main economic mechanisms that drive the results. Technical parts of the papers will not be discussed.

  • Topics: 1. Reform of the Tax and Social insurance systems 2. Optimal Unemployment Insurance 3. Economic Inequality and Social Mobility 4. Labor Market 5. Business Cycle and Economic Growth
Assessment methods
The course will be completed by credit. The necessary condition for the completion of the course is active participation at seminars including presentation of one of the discussed papers.
