Course objectives
The course builds on the knowledge gained in Economics of Social Development and Fundamentals of Social Policy. It explains value premises, functions and principles of social policy, explores its content, tools, legislation and organisation. It covers social security (social insurance, support, aid), family policy and housing in more detail. The lectures include the formation and development of social policy throughout the world and in this country, particularly the latest development trends in the EU countries and the problems associated with the social and economic transformation in the Czech Republic. Students will practise analyzing the problems solved with social policy measures and evaluation of their social and economic efficiency. Credit requirements: seminar essay, presented paper on a chosen topic. Examination: basic knowledge test, oral examination.

Teaching methods
Presentation and class discuson related to introduced topic. Student prove knowledges through homeworks and its public presentation. Reading is a part of homework.
Assessment methods
Course requirements include a final written exam = 50% of the final grade, and an oral exam = 50% of the final grade. During the semester students have to deliver an oral presentation of a seminar paper on a chosen topic.
