- Course Enrolment Limitations

- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to introduce the principal mathematical means necessary to solve economic problems and to prepare essential foundations for the following subjects (statistics and quantitative methods in economy). In addition to this, the subject contributes to the development of logical thinking.
At the end of the course students should be able to:
- apply the basic terms and methods of linear algebra (especially matrices, determinants);
- solve systems of equations of the first degree;
- use the basic techniques of differential and integral calculus;
- continue in the study of follow-up courses (especially mathematical statistics). - Syllabus
- 1. Linear spaces
- 2. Matrixes, determinants
- 3. Solving systems of linear equations
- 4. Introduction to linear programming
- 5. Differential calculus of functions with a single variable (elementary functions, limit, derivatives)
- 6. Differential calculus of functions with a single variable (characteristics of function)
- 7. Differential calculus of functions with a single variable (differential of a function, Taylor's theorem)
- 8. Differential calculus of functions of more variables (limit and continuity. partial derivatives, Taylor's theorem, extremes)
- 9. Sequences
- 10. Indefinite integral (integrating by substitution, integrating of rational functions)
- 11. Definite integral, infinite integral
- 12. Double and multiple integral
- 13. Infinite series
