- Course objectives
- The contents of the course consist of ten topics on human resource management in companies. Students will get an overview of basic areas of human resource management issues in companies. The lectures will focus on modern trends in the field of HR management. The course will also provide students with examples of the world's leading companies, pioneers in the field of human resource management. Specific issues of human resource management in small organizations will only be mentioned marginally. Students will learn about how to process specific kinds of personnel agenda and procedures used in personnel administration.
Teams of students will set up fictitious consultancy companies and will have to implement tasks related to the management of human resources in a project - always relating it to the topics presented in lectures.
At the end of this course, students should be able to:
- understand the impact and importance of human resources for the organization
- be familiar with the main functions and stages of the process of human resource management
- understand specific procedures and techniques of human resources management
- acquire basic knowledge for practical application
- acquire an overview of current literary sources dealing with the discussed issues - Syllabus

- a. Situation on the labour market in the Czech Republic, the EU and influences of globalization on local labour markets

- a. Definition of corporate culture and structure of corporate culture.
- b. Corporate culture and its relationship to corporate efficiency.

- Teaching methods
- The class consits of lectures (together with Human Resources Management class - MPH_RLIZ). Student teams work during the semester on an assignment (project) concerning the topics of the classes. Each student hands in an individual assignment on a specific HR topic
- Assessment methods
- 1. Students work on project in teams. The projects are graded passed or failed.
2. Individual assignment (passed - not passed)
3. Examination and final test classification
If a student commits a prohibited act, such as using various forbidden tools (e.g. cheat sheets), cribbing, taking out any part of the credit test or any other form of cheating, the teacher is allowed to interrupt the test and to grade the student with F, FF or even FFF, according to the seriousness of the offence. The described procedure applies to all the activities that are included in the final evaluation of the course (seminar work). - Language of instruction
