- Course objectives
- The course provides acquaintance with sociology as a science, which explores the structure and dynamic development of the modern society. It also leads to a deeper understanding of the structure of society itself and its dynamics. Stress is placed on improving skills how to analyse social phenomena, situations and relations and, at the same time, draw certain conclusions for the specialisation that they study. A part of its general objective is the cultivation of the ability to see extraeconomic social aspects of economic phenomena and processes.

- Assessment methods
- The course consists of two blocks of lectures on the given topics and of study hours. There is a final written examination. Students are required to be familiar with both the content of the lectures and the assigned readings. During the term, all students are expected to write a short essay, dealing with a specific issue related to the course curriculum.
If students commit a prohibited act, such as using various forbidden tools, cribbing, taking out any part of the exam or any other cheating, the teacher is allowed to interrupt an exam and to grade a student with F, FF or FFF according to the seriousness of the offence. The mentioned procedure relates to all the activities that are included in the final evaluation of the course (seminar work, essays, tests etc.). - Language of instruction
