- Course objectives
- At the end of the course students should be able to:
- understand and explain the development of international monetary cooperation and functioning of the leading international financial institutions and integration groupings;
asses and interpret their activity and impacts on a national economy, various integration groupings as well as on the world economy. - Syllabus
- 1) International monetary and financial cooperation;
- 2) International Monetary Fund;
- 3) Credit policy of International Monetary Fund;
- 4) International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, International Development Association;
- 5) International Finance Corporation, Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency, International Center for Settlement Investment Disputes;
- 6) Bank for International Settlements;
- 7) International monetary and financial cooperation of EU countries;
- 8) European Monetary System;
- 9) Development of Economic and Monetary Union;
- 10) Maastricht convergence criteria, importance of macroeconomic convergence process;
- 11) Optimum currency area, Economic assessment of monetary union;
- 12) Monetary policy of the European Central Bank;

- Assessment methods
- Written test (necessary condition to concede the exam is to reach 60% of the result at minimum).
Oral exam (2 theoretical questions).
Any copying, recording or leaking tests, use of unauthorized tools, aids and communication devices, or other disruptions of objectivity of exams (credit tests) will be considered non-compliance with the conditions for course completion as well as a severe violation of the study rules. Consequently, the teacher will finish the exam (credit test) by awarding grade "F" in the Information System, and the Dean will initiate disciplinary proceedings that may result in study termination. - Language of instruction
