- Course objectives
- At the end of the course a student should be able to: - orient in the methodology of organizational research; - distinguish different approaches to exploring the reality; - distinguish different methodologies and strategies of research; - critically review text; - formulate a research goal of a thesis; - design a research proposal for the thesis; - create the official assignment of the diploma thesis in cooperation with a supervisor;
- Syllabus
- The teaching consists from individual consultations with the student's supervisor and from weekly lectures focusing the organizational research. The lectures will cover following topics:
- 1. Introduction in social science research and thesis workflow.
- 2. Literature review.
- 3. Research proposal.
- 4. Paradigms in social sciences.
- 5. Qualitative and Quantitative research.
- 6. Feedback on literature reviews.
- 7. Research strategies.
- 8. Methods for gathering qualitative data I.
- 9. Methods for gathering qualitative data II.
- 10. Methods for gathering quantitative data I.
- 11. Feedback on research proposals.
- 12. Qualitative data analysis.

Individual consultations with supervisor, writing, feedback. - Assessment methods
- Students are rewarded with a credit for participation in consultations and for active cooperation with their supervisors on the official assignment of the diploma thesis. To successfully complete the course, an official assignment must be created in the IS.
