Course objectives
The course is divided into thirteen lecture blocks. Opening topic is focused on bonds and investing. Then students become familiar with the analysis and yield of long-term and short-term bonds, partial interest yield and bond price. The next parts of the course are focused on the bond duration and convexity, yield curves, bonds risks and rating. The final part is devoted to the bonds portfolio and bonds investing in the Czech Republic.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course students will be able to: - analyze short-term and long-term bonds, - calculate yields of short-term and long-term bonds, - describe and calculate a partial interest yield and explain its influence on a bond price, - calculate bond duration and convexity and explain their use, - explain yield curves, - describe bonds risks, - explain rating.

Assessment methods
The course takes the form of lectures. Students are allowed to take the test after: - the seminar work has been written, handed over and marked with PASSED by a tutor. - completing assigned questionnaires. The course is completed with an written exam. Any copying, recording or leaking tests, use of unauthorized tools, aids and communication devices, or other disruptions of objectivity of exams (credit tests) will be considered non-compliance with the conditions for course completion as well as a severe violation of the study rules. Consequently, the teacher will finish the exam (credit test) by awarding grade "F" in the Information System, and the Dean will initiate disciplinary proceedings that may result in study termination.
