Prerequisites
VB035T English I - Test
The course is aimed at improving the knowledge of English, which should be intermediate at the beginning of the course. Students are allowed to attend the course if they pass the entrance test in the first week of the semester. The entrance test must be registered for separately under VB035T.

Course objectives
The course aims to broaden the knowledge of English grammar and phrases acquired at secondary school and to focus on specialized language in the area of IT. The course is designed for intermediate students. At the end of the course students should be able to: understand specialized articles; use the language fluently; talk about a wide range of IT related topics; provide relevant explanations and arguments; give clear descriptions and presentations; answer questions spontaneously.

Assessment methods
Every student attending the seminar has to submit a formal email and provide feedback for two students plus take a final test submitted in the last week of the term. The test is a multiple choice test covering material taught in seminars (grammar, vocabulary, phrases etc.). In order to be eligible to pass the course, students must satisfy attendance requirements and obtain at least 60% of the total number of points available in the final test.
Students are allowed two absences of any type in a semester. Medical absences are treated as all other absences.
One of the prerequisites for the completion of the course is home preparation and doing assignments.
