- Course objectives
- The course of lectures springs out of an attempt at an analysis of the phenomenon of religiosity as such. A survey of important religious systems of Antiquity is presented, considering their development. A possible connection with our contemporaneity is not ignored.
- Learning outcomes
- In this sensitive area the student will have a hightened awareness in transcendentally presented connections and will be able to assess the impossibility to testify information presented from this field.
- Syllabus
- An overview of chosen religious systems, presuppositions for a paradigmatic orientation on mutually differing structures.
- Confrontation with some categories of ethics, philosophy of common language, politology, but also theory of signs or logic.
- Information concerning different historical and present-day systems as an expression of a social need to interpret and deeply feel the roles realized while trying to pass over the limits of immanence into transcendence.
- Intersubjective communication, intention and practice in the context of a religious creed. Existential anxiety of our forefathers and its philosophical as well as literary echoes.
- Special attention has been dedicated to Christianity, both to its original credo and the prerequisites and stimuli of Protestantism.
- The origin of sects as a phenomenon.. - The background and goal of ecumenical movement.
- Inspiration towards toleration. (It is more difficult to understand than to criticize.)
- It has been recommended (but is not a condition) to go on with the lectures on the "Chosen chapters in the science of religion" (i.e., VV018).
- Literature
- Literature is being assigned during the lectures.
- Teaching methods
- The lecturer has ceased to concentrate on projecting slides which when read during the lecture, prevent from directly following the presented course of ideas.
