- Course objectives
- This course provides theoretical and practical knowledge for book design. Students will create five designs book covers for any book series and one layout of a book. At the end of the course, students will know the basic principles of book design, will be able to elaborate designs for book covers and will be able to project a complete book. This course includes practical skills in Adobe InDesign and knowledge of typesetting and typographic rules.

- Student will be able to: - define typographic terminology; - create a book layout; - Orientation in typesetting; - to distinguish between good and bad typography; - practically apply a typographically correct typesetting; - orientated in Adobe InDesign; - reproduce print data; - to discuss Czech typographic rules; - present and defend book creation;

- Work in Studio: Assignment, consultation, working on the assignment using graphics software Adobe InDesign, assignment completion. Student consults the assignment with the teacher and takes his remarks into account. Final digital presentation.
