- Course Enrolment Limitations
- The course is offered to students of any study field.
The capacity limit for the course is 100 student(s).
Current registration and enrolment status: enrolled: 36/100, only registered: 1/100, only registered with preference (fields directly associated with the programme): 0/100 - Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to provide students with an overview of the technological possibilities of human motion analysis in order to gain an idea of the technical, financial, time and other aspects of different methods. In addition, emphasis will be placed on the ability to work independently with the acquired knowledge and apply it in their field. The goal will be to teach the student to independently create a basic research design based on motion analysis within their main field of study and other areas of interest, and to implement simple research with the available technical equipment.
- Learning outcomes
- After the course the student will be able to:
- define the different methods of motion analysis and explain their principles;
- perform independently basic measurements and their evaluation;
- compare the advantages and disadvantages of different methods of analysis of human motion;
- propose an appropriate method and basic research design for the analysis of human motion in an interdisciplinary context; - Syllabus
- 1. Introductory lesson - introduction to the topic, outline and content of individual lessons, practical requirements for individual lessons (installation of the program, applications,...)
- 2. Movement abilities and skills - definition, taxonomy, measurement - testing, motor learning, structure and factors influencing the level of the physical performance
- 3. Motion analysis - structure of the musculoskeletal system from a biomechanical perspective, identification of important anatomical points for analysis, review of methods: kinematic and dynamic analysis, biomechanical analysis and the technique of movement, kinematic parameters
- 4. Kinematic analysis - motion capture, motion recording systems, spatial calibration, kinematic method, principle of evaluation of kinematic variables from video recordings, use of motion capture in various fields, selection of appropriate and key kinematic parameters for a given problem
- 5. Focus of research in various areas using kinematic analysis, motion analysis in Kinovea

- Teaching methods
- Lectures, independent activity in lessons, creative theoretical activity in groups, practical measurement and evaluation of data in groups
- Assessment methods
- The method used to validate the intended outcomes will be the creation of a final group project proposal based on a motion analysis in an interdisciplinary context. This proposal will be created in class and then presented to others in the form of an oral presentation.
