- Course objectives
- To broaden students' knowledge and skills needed for pedagogical practice in schools and leisure settings, with an emphasis on communication skills, effective conflict and emotionally challenging situations resolution, giving feedback and working with a team. All of this with consideration for the individuality and needs of others as well as one self's.
- Learning outcomes
- On completion of the course the learner will be able to - Describe the subject of educational psychology, its basic concepts and links with other disciplines. - Listen empathically to a person's feelings, identify their needs - Analyse and effectively resolve conflicts in the educational environment. - To evaluate in a reflective way one's own pedagogical practice and its impact on the individual. - Use role plays and thought experiments to enhance empathy and communication. - Use feedback to modify own teaching, as well as for personal growth. - Describe the signs of stress, burnout and basic work with them. - Understand the fundamentals of the mediation approach. - Describe the basics of group dynamics, its development and ways of influencing it.
